As 2025 begins, the Provincial Government of Quirino (PGQ), through the Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office (PNREO) and Special Projects Unit (SPU), supports the nation in celebrating National Zero Waste Month through the conduct of various activities.

This environmental celebration, mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 760 s. 2014, by the late President Benigno Aquino III, aims to encourage people to change their lifestyles and practices to create sustainable systems.

Zero Waste Month also marks the anniversary of the signing of the Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
