Quirino livelihood programs save farmers from losses

At the height of the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, netizens were horrified to see pictures of tons of tomatoes dumped on the roadside of Quirino province due to excessive supply and low market prices.

A dejected Quirino Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua called the ghastly sight as the “libingan ng mga pangarap ng mga magsasaka” or graveyard of farmers’ hopes.

Quirino launches Korean-funded processing center

As a culminating activity of the Quirino Integrated Rural Development Project (QIRD), the Provincial Government of Quirino and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) recently held the Quirino Livelihood for Everyone (Q-LiFE) Product Launching and Marketing at The Podium Hall in Mandaluyong City.

Themed “Quirino Your Basket of Happiness: Taste the Goodness of Quality Food in QLiFE,” the one-day event showcased processed food at the Q-LIFE, flavors, and non-food products, as well as the unique biodiversity and cultural heritage of Quirino.

South Korea supports Quirino Province farmers through an Agricultural Value Chain Workshop

The South Korean government promoted local agricultural and livestock products as part of its project to increase the income of local farmers in Quirino Province through an Agricultural Value Chain Workshop held in Manila.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of South Korea in the Philippines, the event was spearheaded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to support the Quirino Integrated Rural Development Project (QIRDP) Phase 2.

South Korea turns over P253-M agri centers to Quirino

The Korean government turned over on Thursday two agricultural centers that would boost the income of some 650 farmer households in Quirino.

In a ceremony, Korea formally handed over to the province the completed Quirino Livelihood for Everyone (Q-LiFE) and cattle breeding centers (CBC), two of the major structures built under the USD9.5 million worth of Quirino Integrated Rural Development Project (QIRDP) Phase II.
